About High Velocity Ranch

High Velocity Ranch (HVR) is a 28.24-acre Texas Hill Country property in Bandera County, managed under a Texas Parks & Wildlife Department wildlife management tax exemption.

The property features mixed cedar-oak savanna, native grass pasture, and established food plots actively managed to support native wildlife populations — white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and native songbirds. Two stock ponds provide year-round water access: the upper pond is automatically filled and maintains a consistent level, while the lower pond is seasonally filled during wet periods.

The long-term goal of HVR is to restore native Hill Country habitat — reducing invasive cedar encroachment, establishing sustainable native grass and browse coverage, and building a self-sustaining wildlife population. Active priorities include feral hog eradication, food plot expansion, pond vegetation management, and wildlife census monitoring through a trail camera network.
